Welcome to the Baldman Games website.
Baldman Games is a company specializing in organizing, onsite management, and creation of conventions and trade shows revolving around Wizards of the Coasts games and products. We also are involved in organized play activities such as 'Living' style campaigns and adventure authoring.
I started running shows in 2001 with All Americon One in Warren, OH. That grew into Mahoning Valley Con (MVC) in 2002 through 2004. In 2004 a friend at Wotc asked me if I could handle the RPGA portion of Origins as a favor. It made for a crazy couple of months (MVC in May then Origins in June) but we managed. We evidently managed it well enough that they asked me to also handle Gencon SoCal in the fall of 2004 and all future shows starting in 2005. Since then I've ran every show they throw at me (and current shows we handle are shown in the right sidebar). In 2008 we officially became Baldman Games. A name thought up by my kids and approved by the wife (or at least laughed at a lot by - we're gamers - we're used to not taking ourselves seriously). What started out as a side thing and a favor to a friend has turned into a business and major undertaking. In 2010 I started to expand the brand by launching my first shared world campaign (Ashes of Athas - premieres in 2011) and bringing on some official contract help (my three co-horts Dustin, Willi, and Jay). Depending on the success of our first shared world campaign we may launch another in 2011. Do not rule out some PDF published works or even another convention as well. Ideas are bouncing around and opportunities are always around the next corner.
