Have you ever left a Virtual D&D Weekend thinking “I sure wish we could keep playing until the next one”? Do you wish you had a weekly home game, but all your friends in the real world are too lame? Baldman Games is here to help!
The Home Game in the Cloud program is built for longer storylines and campaigns of six sessions or more¹, which take place between Virtual D&D Weekends. And while D&D remains popular, HGitC supports ALL tabletop RPGs! We’ve run campaigns across a wide range of official and homebrew campaign settings, alongside games of Star Trek: Adventures, Wyrd Street, and games using other systems, and there are more on the way!
So how does it work?
Well, that depends on the specific HGitC experience, but like with most real-world home games, the DM is the one in the driver’s seat². For us that means an experienced Baldman Games DM is the one who works with our admin team to get the game set up.
But that can take many forms.
Every HGitC campaign starts a little differently. Sometimes a Baldman Games DM arrives with a complete vision, manages everything, and recruits players. Other times a few players start with an idea, do a lot of the legwork, and find a DM later in the process. Either way, an experienced Baldman Games DM works with our admin team to get the campaign organized and ready to launch. In almost every case, though, the journey begins in the games-in-the-cloud-planning forum on our Community Discord server³.

- Only experienced Baldman Games DMs who have run for us already are allowed to run HGitC experiences
- This isn’t a requirement, DMs can recruit and organize anywhere, it’s just the most common path

After 2 successful batches of pilot games and several lessons learned, HGitC becomes a permanent program!
Jess Joins the Team!
The program grows to the point where it requires it’s own dedicated admin! And Jess is awsome!
Expanding Past Just D&D
As the program evolved, HGitC expanded beyond its D&D-only VDDW roots, creating opportunities for campaigns in a wide range of tabletop RPGs!
