July 30-August 2: Gen Con – Indianapolis, IN
Gen Con brings the premiere of a new Domain of Greyhawk trilogy! Whispers Beneath the Cairns, A Measure of Debt, and Architect of Silence, as well as the new Domain of Greyhawk Special: The Black Star Commission! Gen Con 2026 will also feature the exclusive fourth and final Castle Greyhawk adventure, CGH 1-4: Champions of the Crawl! Don’t miss your shot!
Legends of Greyhawk’s first Trading Post event arrives at Gen Con! This trading post will be a ticketed event to avoid issues with scheduling and lines conflicting with your game. A visit to the Trading Post is also included with D&D eXPerience tickets! At the Trading Post, you’ll have an opportunity to trade or purchase unique items, as well as having the ability to transform an un-certed magic item into a physical cert! All proceeds from Trading Post ticket sales will benefit charity.
Gen Con badges are already on sale, and hotels are largely filled for attendees, but Baldman Games DMs can qualify for a room-share as part of their benefits!
Wizards of the Coast will also be at Gen Con running The D&D Tower! The Indiana Repertory Theater has been converted into multiple of D&D delights, including a live play session of the Dungeon Masters actual play program, an orchestral performance of the music from the show, tarokka readings, and hour-long Dungeon Dare play experiences!

Games in the Cloud
As a reminder, or for anyone who missed the news:
One Shots in the Cloud is a new pilot program spin-off of Home Game in the Cloud, made entirely of non-D&D one shots that run over one-to-two-sessions, allowing you to dip your toe into different games without committing to a full campaign, but can potentially leading to more one shots, or a full HGitC campaign.
For now it’s still in pilot, as we evaluate things carefully. If you like it, be sure to let us know by signing up for a game and/or sending us feedback! Our second slate of OSitC adventures should start recruiting right around July’s VDDW, to be run in August.

Red Carpet Changes Starting in July
Originally the Red Carpet Experience was conceived of as an online counterpoint to the DDXP tracks at our big in-person shows: a top-notch, vetted DM, paired up with you and your friends for a track of adventures. The difference being that you plan the schedule for Red Carpets―also, we still haven’t figured out how to get snacks to players efficiently 😜
We eventually added early-access to Red Carpet players as a little extra “premium” perk, but when we did, we promised it wouldn’t let it become a way for players to “buy” early access, as we have a strict stance that we don’t want that at VDDWs.
Over time, though, we’ve seen the Red Carpet program drift a bit, with more and more groups becoming a couple core players and the rest recruited per-game. While we don’t think anyone is trying to game Early Access, we want to be vigilant and proactively address the concerns we’ve heard from some members of our community.
So, starting with July, we will only accept Red Carpet Bookings for fixed groups of players―and those players will need to be named in the Booking form. Now, we understand life happens, we’re willing to make minor exceptions if, for example one player has to work and will miss a game, we’re willing to allow very limited player substitutions, on a case-by-case basis, but the intent will be a fixed group playing through.
We’ll be updating wording on the website soon to make this very clear.
Otherwise, if you’re looking to make sure a certain game happens in a slot that works for you, please feel free to organize with other players in the VDDW-Game-planning forum, we do monitor it; or consider a HGitC option for longer series of adventures that don’t fit well into a VDDW.
